Entrepreneurship as a Tool for Change: A Business Creation Workshop with Wooden Page Founder Svitlana Baranova
Entrepreneurship as a Tool for Change: A Business Creation Workshop with Wooden Page Founder Svitlana Baranova
As part of a series of workshops on starting a business for participants of the retraining and social adaptation program for internally displaced persons, “TURBO: Educational Program for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses”, implemented in partnership with the NGO Chernihiv European, an inspiring meeting was held with Svitlana Baranova, founder of the Wooden Page brand — a creative enterprise specializing in handcrafted gifts, custom wooden décor, and furniture.
Svitlana Baranova shared the story of how she started her business, spoke about the challenges faced along the way, and emphasized the importance of personal motivation, adaptability, and flexible planning. Participants learned more about organizing production processes, customer support, product promotion, and building a personal brand.
During an engaging discussion, participants explored how to combine aesthetics, functionality, and social value in entrepreneurship. They also shared their own ideas and received valuable insights into how to move forward with launching their own businesses.
The workshop became a key part of the practical section of the program, aimed at developing entrepreneurial skills, critical thinking, and an understanding of the local market. Entrepreneurship is not only about profit — it is also about values, purpose, and transforming the environment.
The project “Universities’ Response to Major Challenges: Building Resilient Higher Education to Respond to and Manage Societal Crises” (101129315 — TURBO) aims to strengthen the resilience, preparedness, and responsiveness of Ukrainian higher education institutions by enhancing capacities, improving competencies, and facilitating knowledge exchange.
