A step towards European standards in the field of philology: joint educational projects of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University with Marie Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS)
Chernihiv Polytechnic National University is expanding its international cooperation by establishing an active dialogue with leading European higher education institutions. In this context, the partnership with Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) (https://www.umcs.pl/pl/aktualnosci,22413,wspolprowadzenie-zajec-na-uniwersytecie-w-czernihowie,161548.chtm), Lublin, Poland, in particular with the Department of English Language and Linguistics and the Department of Linguistics and Literature Studies, became a significant step.
The cooperation involves the exchange of scientific and methodological materials and teaching experience in the discipline “Translation and Interpretation Practice”, which is part of the English Language and Translation study programme. Classes on text analysis and translation are taught by leading teachers: Adam Glaz (UMCS), Svitlana Lytvyn and Olena Rosstalna (Department of Foreign Philology, Chernihiv Polytechnic). The joint activity allows us to combine different pedagogical approaches, use modern teaching methods and adapt European educational standards to the educational process.
This initiative plays a key role in expanding academic opportunities for students and faculty, contributing to their professional development. For future applicants, it opens up additional prospects for gaining international experience, participating in joint study programmes, internships and research. Cooperation also creates the basis for the implementation of joint educational projects, which significantly increases the competitiveness of graduates in the European and global labour market.
We are convinced that the development of international partnership will be an important factor in the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of philology and translation, opening up new horizons for all those interested in quality education and professional growth.
