Academic integrity course within the framework of the ERASMUS+ KA2 DEFEP project

          Within the implementation of the ERASMUS+ KA2 DEFEP project “Distance Education for Future: best EU practices in response to the requests of modern higher education seekers and labor market” ») teachers of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Trade of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, Ph.D., Associate Professor Tetyana DENYSENKO and Doctor of Philosophy Kristina KOVAL developed a course on the basics of academic integrity and information literacy, which was presented at a workshop on June 20, 2024.

          The course “Academic Integrity and the Basics of Information Literacy” is designed to acquaint students with higher education with the basic principles and ethical norms of academic activity, teach them to avoid unscrupulous practices and adhere to high standards in their work. The purpose of the course is the formation of academic culture, academic literacy and practical skills of oral and written language, an intolerant attitude towards manifestations of academic fraud, which is a necessary condition for successful studies and obtaining a future profession.

          The main principles of the policy of academic integrity in a higher education institution are universal for all forms of higher education. At the same time, this course takes into account the peculiarities related to digital technologies and the organization of the educational process in a distance format.

          The course and informational materials on academic integrity developed by teachers of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Trade (created by Doctor of Economics, Professor, Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance Nataliya KHOLYAVKO) were approved by all partners of the DEFEP project consortium and accepted for implementation in their universities.

Compliance with the principles of academic integrity is a fundamental factor in ensuring the quality of higher education and the formation of a conscious citizen!
