“Introduction to working with memory. World experience”

On February 15, 2024, an introductory lecture by Louis BICKFORD, an adjunct professor at Columbia and New York Universities, was held on “Introduction to Memory Work. World experience”.

Organised by the Renaissance component of the Partnership for a Strong Ukraine Foundation.

The Renaissance Component of the Partnership for a Strong Ukraine (PSU) is initiating a hackathon for students to develop digital memory projects on their own.

The introductory lecture focused on working with memory and overcoming the legacy of mass atrocities of the past. Other issues discussed included the work of large language models, our motivations for working with memory, and the importance of creating new narratives about who we are.

Finally, the participants of the meeting were able to ask their questions to the lecturer and get acquainted with the information about the start and conditions of the hackathon.

The event is organised by the Partnership for Ukraine’s Resilience, funded by the governments of Canada, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and the United States of America.
