Second Mentoring Session within the “Women in STEM: Dream, Act, Change” Program
On November 25 2025, the second mentoring session of the “Women in STEM: Dream, Act, Change” program took place on the topic: “Building a Successful Career and Personal Brand in Science and Technology.”
The session mentor, Iryna Prybytkо, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Engineering, Production, and Construction at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, shared her professional journey, explained how to build a career trajectory in the science and technology field (and beyond), discussed how to start developing a personal brand, and outlined strategies for gradually moving toward leadership positions.
The mentoring session also featured Iryna Nahorna, Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor of the Department of Welding Technologies and Construction, and Svitlana Yushchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Automotive Transport and Mechanical Engineering, as well as alumni of various technical programs at our university: Antonina Kologoyda, Lidiia Petrushynets, Olha Velichko, Kateryna Chikirisova, and Hanna Rybchenko.
Students had the opportunity to hear real-life career development cases in STEM fields, ask questions about the first steps in the workplace, balancing studies and work, professional confidence, and the role of mentorship in personal growth.
We sincerely thank the mentor, all invited lecturers, and our alumni for their openness, support, and willingness to share their experience.
Such sessions help students see that a successful career in science and technology is entirely achievable if one acts, learns, and dares to dream ambitiously.
The event was held as part of the “Gender Mentorship (Women in Science)” scheme under the Erasmus+ PROMENT project, “Promoting Vocational Education and Active Student Participation through the Establishment of a Mentoring and Tutoring System in Higher Education Institutions,” co-funded by the EU.
