Seminar “Innovation for Competitiveness”

Seminar “Innovation for Competitiveness”

The “Innovation for Competitiveness” Seminar was held at the Peremoha Center and organized jointly with PPV s Agency within the EU4Innovation East project: Developing the Innovation Capacity of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University.

Participants discussed the role of innovation during wartime, its impact on economic development and regional competitiveness, as well as why it is especially important now to build an innovation ecosystem in Chernihiv.

Representatives of Chernihiv Polytechnic — faculty members, researchers, startup coordinators, PhD students, students — as well as founders of local businesses and startups, including PET-Technologies, Metaenga, and “Insulin Without Queues”, joined the discussion. Together they talked about startups, technologies, idea commercialization, and the effectiveness of innovation.

PPV experts shared examples of developing the creative economy, particularly the Promprylad.Renovation case — a revitalized factory in Ivano-Frankivsk, where the New Economy of Ivano-Frankivsk project led to the creation of POLE — a Center for Development and Product Design. This example inspired a conversation about Chernihiv’s potential as a city where innovation can become a key to recovery.
