Workshop on Piloting Experience Exchange: summing up the results

Workshop on Piloting Experience Exchange: summing up the results

          From 17 to 20 February 2025, the Workshop on Piloting Experience Exchange was held in Uzhhorod within the framework of the international ERASMUS+ project KA2 PROMENT with the participation of partner universities of the project consortium from Ukraine, Georgia, Italy, Austria, Poland, Portugal, business partners and NGOs.

          The event was organised by  Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, which is responsible for the implementation of Work Package 5 “Piloting mentoring and tutoring programmes at the regional level” within the framework of this project. By mutual agreement of the participants, the Methodological Workshop was moved from Chernihiv to Uzhhorod in order to create the most favourable and safe conditions for the exchange of experience in the first piloting of tutoring and mentoring programmes in four Ukrainian and two Georgian universities during 2024 within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ project 101082696-PROMENT “Promoting Vocational Education and Active Participation of Students through the Establishment of a Comprehensive Mentoring and Tutoring System in Higher Education Institutions”.

          During the event, the participants shared their experience of the functioning of the Tutoring and Mentoring Centres, which were established and provided with the necessary equipment at the expense of grant funds at partner universities from Ukraine and Georgia:

  • Lviv Polytechnic National University (Lviv, Ukraine);
  • Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University (Mykolaiv, Ukraine);
  • National Technical University ‘Dnipro Polytechnic’ (Dnipro, Ukraine);
  • National University ‘Chernihiv Polytechnic’ (Chernihiv, Ukraine);
  • Shota Rustaveli Batumi State University (Batumi, Georgia);
  • Georgian Technical University (Tbilisi, Georgia).

          The programme of the event included the exchange of innovative practices in the implementation of individual tutoring and mentoring programmes (T&M schemes), as well as the development of effective educational strategies for implementation in the next phase of the project. The workshop was a great opportunity for university communities to analyse the first results, share challenges, and develop strategies for the further development of tutoring and mentoring initiatives. It was interesting to hear feedback on the high quality of tutoring and mentoring programmes from both students and mentors who participated in their implementation at 6 universities in Ukraine and Georgia.

          During the first piloting Chernihiv Polytechnic National University implemented three T&M programmes:

  • “Tutoring for first-year students”,
  • “Digital Mentoring”,
  • “Startup Mentoring”, involving 24 mentors, 39 mentees, 13 tutors and 52 tutors.

          Special thanks to the Chernihiv IT Cluster, which is also a partner of the PROMENT consortium, for its professional support and assistance in implementing the Digital Mentoring Crash Course mentoring programme in October-December 2024.

          Our university was represented at the Workshop in Uzhhorod by Liudmyla Remniova, Alla Kholodnytska, Alla Nitchenko and higher education students Yelyzaveta Luhyna and Anastasiia Radai. Volodymyr Bazylevych and Anna Verbytska presented the results of the online pilot. Nataliia Kholiavko, Kateryna Hnedina, and Viktoriia Shvets were also involved in summarising the results of the pilot and preparing the relevant reports.

          We thank the project team for their active participation in the first pilot of tutoring and mentoring programmes, as well as for the high professional level of organisation and conduct of the international workshop based on its results. We are sincerely grateful to all the mentors and students involved for their active participation and contribution to the development of the modern mentoring system! We look forward to new project results during the second piloting of T&M programmes in 2025.
