Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program Grants for 2027–2028

          We are pleased to announce that the Kyiv Office of the Institute of International Education (IIE) is now accepting applications for Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program grants for the 2027–2028 academic year.

          The program enables scholars to conduct research at U.S. universities and research institutions for a duration of 3 to 9 months.

          Eligible Academic Fields: Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), and Natural Sciences.

          Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates holdingPh.D./Doctor of Sciences degrees, cultural figures, arts professionals, librarians, museum specialists, journalists, civic leaders, as well as researchers without a degree who hold a Master’s/Specialist degree with at least 10 years of professional experience, significant accomplishments, and scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals;
  • Ukrainian citizenship and residence in Ukraine at the time of application (applications are also accepted from Ukrainian citizens who resided in Ukraine prior to February 24, 2022, but were forced to leave due to the war);
  • English language proficiency sufficient for professional communication in an academic environment;
  • Obligation to return to Ukraine for at least 2 years upon completion of the grant, in accordance with J-1 visa requirements.

          Grant Benefits (Research Category):

  • Monthly stipend;
  • Allowance for professional literature;
  • Health insurance;
  • Round – trip airfare.

  • Research project proposal (3–5 pages);
  • Bibliography for the research project (1–3 pages);
  • Curriculum Vitae including a full list of publications;
  • Three letters of recommendation (submitted online by recommenders);
  • Letter of invitation from a host U.S. institution (optional, but recommended);
  • Signed Consent for Personal Data Processing form (sent via email to [email protected]).
