JICA Long-Term Training Program: “SDGs Global Leader” for FY2027

          According to letter No. JICA (UKR)-26-08-10133 dated August 10, 2026, from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), JICA has launched the long-term training program “SDGs Global Leader” for the 2027 Japanese Fiscal Year. The main objective of the program is to promote international cooperation for sustainable development worldwide.

          Target Audience: The program is open to junior and mid-level civil servants, researchers, and staff from other institutions and organizations dealing with relevant subject areas who are expected to contribute to policy formulation and implementation aimed at addressing sustainable development challenges in their respective fields.

          Program Duration & Degree Options:

  • Master’s Degree: 2 – year course (September 2027 – September 2029);
  • Ph.D. Degree: 3 – year course (September 2027 – September 2030).

         Note: Program duration may vary depending on the chosen university. Studies are expected to begin between August and October 2027. Duration may also differ for candidates enrolled as research students.

          Requirements & Family Support:

  • Language Requirement: High proficiency in English is required;
  • Famili Relocation: Successful applicants are allowed to invite family members to join them in Japan after completing an initial 6 – month stay in the country.

          Application Deadline & Submission Procedure: Interested candidates must submit the completed application form and required documents to the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service (NAUCS) by October 14, 2026, via email at [email protected] for further transmission to the JICA Ukraine Office and Japanese authorities.
